NDUTU, this is The Southern part Serengeti an important part of the migration route, and the movement of the herds is influenced by seasonal rainfall patterns.The migration cycle begins with the WIldebeest calving season from January to March, where wildebeest give birth to their calves. The South Serengeti is a crucial area for calving, and the herds gather here during this time. The abundance of fresh grass is essential for the lactating mothers. it is the best time to witness the wildebeest calving as they spread out across the short-grass plains and predators are just around waiting for their opportunities to make a hunt.
ARRIVAL
Upon your Arrival at either, KILIMANJARO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT or ARUSHA AIRPORT

DAY 1 / AIRPORT PICKUP TO ARUSHA
On arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) or Arusha Airport (ARK), you will be met by an Ewotu African Safaris representative who will drive you to your accommodation in Arusha. Your overnight stay will be at the nearest Lodge in Arusha Town. There is free Wi-Fi in the café, restaurant and bar, as well as a swimming pool and conference room.
DAY 2 / TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK
Early morning after breakfast, drive to Tarangire National Park and start your safari by exploring the open wilderness with the highest concentration of elephants in northern Tanzania, the Tarangire National Park. Tarangire is best known for its many gigantic baobab trees and its large herds of elephants. It is home to approximately 2,500 individuals and large herds are regularly viewed. Mammals such as lions, zebras, warthogs, wildebeests, buffalos can be spotted here. In dry seasons, Tarangire comes alive as wildlife and birdlife congregate on the Tarangire River which is a permanent source of water. Tarangire is the only place in Tanzania where the oryx and gerenuk are regularly spotted.
Dinner and your overnight stay will be at your accommodation in Karatu.
DAY 3 / KARATU TO NDUTU AREA
After breakfast, we will head to the Lake Ndutu region, situated in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, a sublime landscape of the southern Serengeti ecosystem. The drive takes approximately 3 hours, taking us across the beautiful landscape of the Rift Valley Lake Ndutu. It is alkaline like most of the other Rift Valley lakes and is frequently inhabited by a wide array of wildlife. With appetites sated, undertake a game drive in the Ndutu region. The majority of the wildebeest migration can normally be found on the short-grass plains from December to April. After the late afternoon game drive, you will drive to your accommodation for dinner and overnight.
DAY 4 / NDUTU AREA
After our hearty breakfast, we will head out to enjoy a full day game drive in the Ndutu region. We endeavor to explore the range of different habitats found here that include swamps, woodland, soda lakes, and the world-famous Serengeti short grass plains. We will see the awesome sight of the great thronging herds of wildebeests and zebras. As our full day of adventure upon the ‘Endless Plain’ ends, we will depart to our accommodation for dinner and your overnight stay.
DAY 5 / NDUTU TO SERONERA
Your day begins with an early morning game drive in the captivating Serengeti. This is an excellent time for wildlife viewing, as many animals are active during the cooler hours of the morning. After your rewarding safari adventure, you’ll return to the camp for a delicious breakfast.
Following breakfast, you’ll set out for Seronera, enjoying a game drive en route. The Seronera area is renowned for its thriving resident wildlife population, including the famous “big five” animals: lions, African leopards, African elephants, African buffaloes, and rhinoceroses. The Serengeti is particularly acclaimed for its substantial lion population, with more than 3,000 of these majestic creatures inhabiting the ecosystem. As the day comes to a close, you’ll dine and spend the night at the allocated Accommodation.
DAY 6 / CENTRAL SERENGETI (SERONERA) TO NGORONGORO CRATER
After breakfast, we’ll head out for an en-route game drive through the Serengeti. We may, with lady luck on our side, spot all of the “Big Five across the ‘Endless Plain’ to the Ngorongoro Crater. This UNESCO World Heritage Site formed millions of years ago with the massive explosion of a volcano once higher than Kilimanjaro. It is 610m deep and covers roughly 304sq km. Due to its dense animal population of approximately 25 000 ungulates, the Crater offers the best game viewing. We will arrive at the Crater rim before lunch. With our overview of the spectacular landscape that spreads out before our eyes stored in our memories and memory cards, we descend the bumpy winding track that brings us onto the Crater floor. Very quickly, we will be able to see wildebeest, zebra, gazelle, elephant, perhaps if we’re lucky, the black rhino through the grass.
After lunch and a full afternoon inside the Crater, we’ll head to designated Accommodation in Karatu for dinner and an overnight stay.
DAY 7 / MANYARA NATIONAL PARK TO ARUSHA
After breakfast, drive to Lake Manyara for the morning game drive and in the afternoon we make our way back to Arusha or at the airport for your flight back home.
